A group weekend almost always comes down to the journey each person has to make to get there. Too long, and Saturday starts tired; too short, and you never really left the city. The four houses gathered here strike the right balance: four genuine countrysides, in the Perche, the Brie, the Norman bocage or at the gates of the Sologne, all under two hours from Paris and with fifteen to twenty-four beds each.

Verified driving times. Le Plessis-Placy is 50 minutes from Paris. Allow 1h15 for Champrond-en-Gâtine from Montparnasse, and 1h15 as well for Montereau. La Chapelle-Hareng, the farthest and the most Norman of the four, takes 2h. In all four cases, leaving work on Friday and being at the table that same evening is no gamble.
Large country homes near Paris: four countrysides to choose from
Once you arrive, each house stands up for its own corner of countryside. Le Plessis-Placy looks out over the plains of the Brie, with the Grand-Voyeux reserve and its 240 hectares of ponds to explore, and Disneyland half an hour away when there are children in the group. Champrond-en-Gâtine is a farm in the heart of the Perche: the GR 35 passes through the village and the Perche golf course is twenty minutes away. Montereau lives at the edge of the forest, twelve minutes from the Loire à Vélo and twenty from the château of Sully-sur-Loire. Finally, La Chapelle-Hareng opens onto the Norman bocage, with a walking trail starting from the property and Deauville 45 minutes away. Four directions out of Paris, to change scenery from one weekend to the next.
Getting there without a car, or almost
A group of fifteen will obviously not fit into a single car. Three of the four houses have a station less than twenty minutes away, served by TER trains from Paris: Courville-sur-Eure for Champrond-en-Gâtine, Bernay for La Chapelle-Hareng, Nogent-sur-Vernisson for Montereau. Le Plessis-Placy has the Lizy-sur-Ourcq station 6 km away, and Roissy is 35 minutes away: it is the simplest house when part of the group is arriving from abroad. On top of that, most of the houses can be reached by Uber or taxi.
