Villas with a hot tub

From one listing to the next, the word "jacuzzi" covers everything and its opposite: bubbles indoors, a Nordic bath steaming in the cold air, or a heated pool standing in for one. The four houses on this page each offer their own version, described here as it is, so you book the one that matches the picture in your head.

Renting with a hot tub: four different setups

Saint-Amarin is the best equipped: an indoor jacuzzi in the wellness area, and a second one outside, kept at 37°C all year round, even under the snow. At Montereau, the jacuzzi runs in every season and takes over when the big pool closes in autumn, with the salon fireplace to stretch out the evening. At La Chapelle-Hareng, no bubbles indoors, but a bubbling Nordic bath in the enclosed garden, rounded out by a sauna for two to three people. Finally, at Le Plessis-Placy, the heated 3x2 metre outdoor pool turns into a large-format jacuzzi in the cold season: less intimate, but far more people fit in.

The Nordic bath, a hot tub under the stars

The Nordic bath is the jacuzzi in the open air: water at 37°C, cold air all around and the night above your head. At La Chapelle-Hareng, it is set up in the farmhouse garden, and clear Norman evenings end in it, head tipped back toward the stars. At Saint-Amarin, the outdoor jacuzzi plays that role when you get back from skiing: the Markstein is thirty minutes away, and going from the snow on the ridges to steaming water remains the house's great luxury. These baths come into their own from November to February, when night falls early and the gap between the air and the water's 37°C makes itself felt.

Hot tub, sauna or hammam: which to choose?

The three do not deliver the same sensations, and not every house offers everything. The jacuzzi is the most convivial: you talk, you linger, and all four houses on this page have one in some form. The sauna, dry heat and silence, exists at La Chapelle-Hareng, in a two-to-three-person format, and at Saint-Amarin, which lines up a classic sauna and an infrared cabin. The hammam, gentle steam, exists only at Saint-Amarin. If your group wants the full sequence, dry heat, steam, then bubbles, only one address ticks all three boxes; if it is the bath under the night sky that you dream of, La Chapelle-Hareng is the ideal house.
