Nature, heritage and culture
Chartres Cathedral
A UNESCO World Heritage masterpiece of Gothic architecture, Notre-Dame de Chartres stuns with its medieval stone carvings and 176 original stained-glass windows.
GR 35 – Loir Valley Trail
The GR 35 is one of France's finest long-distance hiking trails: nearly 280 miles from Verneuil-sur-Avre to Rochefort-sur-Loire, following the Loir River for almost its entire length. Champrond-en-Gâtine is precisely where it all begins — the Loir rises near the village, which sits on one of the trail's opening stages.
Château des Comtes du Perche
One of the last standing 11th-century rectangular keeps in France, overlooking the old town. Inside, the Museum of Perche History features an audio guide narrated by France's foremost heritage ambassador.
Écuries de Saint-Victor
Horseback riding, equine therapy sessions, and lessons for kids starting at age 2. Set on 7 acres in the heart of the Perche countryside, with draft horses and ponies in a peaceful rural setting.
Marcel Proust Museum
The only house in France entirely dedicated to Marcel Proust, renovated in 2024. This is where In Search of Lost Time took shape — including the famous madeleine — in a preserved Belle Époque interior.
Châteaudun Castle
One of the finest medieval castles in the Loire Valley, perched on a rocky spur above the Loir River. Its 11th-century keep, Gothic chapel, and Renaissance buildings make for a remarkable visit.
Perche Golf course
18-hole, par-72 course stretching 6,138 meters through rolling, wooded terrain at the heart of the Perche Regional Nature Park. Full facilities: club house, driving range, pro shop, restaurant, cart rental. Suitable for all levels.
Notre-Dame-des-Marais Church
A jewel of late 15th-century Flamboyant Gothic architecture, listed as a historic monument. Its remarkable stained glass and graceful nave are well worth the trip. The surrounding medieval town center is equally worth exploring.
A home designed for groups
330 m² of restored space blending the character of a 19th-century hunting lodge with the comfort of a group stay.
7 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms (including one double) sleeping up to 15 guests. Two living rooms including the tower lounge with its period fireplace, and a large garden terrace for outdoor dining. A 65 m² open-plan kitchen, living and dining area — the heart of the house, built for big shared meals.
Year-round relaxation
The standout feature: a heated indoor pool accessible whatever the weather. Lined with floor-to-ceiling windows that open onto the adjoining terrace in summer, where you can stretch out on sun loungers and breathe it all in.
On-site activities
Outside: a children's play area, ping-pong and a barbecue for summer evenings. Inside: a kids' games corner, foosball and a statement fireplace. The village is walkable — a bakery 2 minutes away for fresh morning bread, and a café-tabac-newsstand 3 minutes from the door.
